Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

SmartGeoMetrics was tasked with capturing the 3D geometric data on the naval battleship USS Missouri while it was in dry dock at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.  In order to accomplish all of the scanning in the allotted four day window, SmartGeoMetrics fielded three separate scanning crews to perform simultaneous data capture. The ship was captured using 160 ScanWorlds and more than 400 control points. The data is being used by the USS Missouri Association as a historical record and for ongoing maintenance educational purposes.

This project was featured as the cover story for “Point of Beginning” magazine.
